Clinical Therapist

Marcella is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor who has worked in the behavioral health field for the past 20 years. She obtained her master’s degree in Guidance and Counseling with a concentration on professional and school counseling from New Mexico Highlands University. Marcella has a bachelor’s degree in Social Science with and emphasis in psychology from California State University. She has worked with the local public school system as well as various counseling agencies in the community. Her experience includes school counseling and educator, mental health counseling for adult and teens.

Marcella has passion for helping individuals achieve a healthy balance - mentally, physically, and spiritually. Her holistic perspective guides her as she assists clients in being the best version of themselves.

As Marcella works at meeting her clients where they are she utilizes and incorporates these different modalities, Person-Centered, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Virtue Therapy, Choice Theory, and 12-Step Principals. She also uses Christian-based counseling to assist her clients in discovering how their faith or spirituality can help with their healing process.

Being from the southwest Marcella has been able to work with and understand the needs of the diverse culture of New Mexico. She has experience working with depression, anxiety, grief and loss, stress management, school and career challenges, anger management, domestic violence, building self-esteem, and parenting issues.
