Spring Forward
It's time for a fresh start...Spring is just around the corner and when we think of spring, we think of everything becoming new. We think of a new bud on a tree, flowers freshly blooming and birds singing. Spring is about new beginnings and a fresh start. The essence of the tree and the flower is still there but every bud is new, every flower is new and even we can become new.
When we decide that the old way of doing things is not working, its okay to do something new or to erase the board and start over. If the old way of doing things is not working for you give yourself permission to start over with a fresh perspective. Winter may have held you back but its okay to start over with whatever endeavor you thought about, started or never finished. You may have started to exercise, somehow you lost your motivation, start over. You may have decided to eat healthier, but the holidays held you hostage, start over. If you think that you have messed up in other areas of your life, its okay to start over. Just as spring is about new beginnings, each day that you wake up is a chance to start over and begin anew. So, erase negative thoughts and replace them with positive thoughts and give yourself permission to start over.
Starting over means setting new goals and timelines for the things you want to accomplish. Sometimes we walk before we crawl and before we know it, we give up. But its not that you have given up, you just need to start over. So, to get a fresh start, set small goals and once you accomplish those, then work your way up to a larger goal. An example would be if you wanted to start exercising again. Walking is a good way to start. Make time in your day to walk for 15 min at least three times a week. Then as you become comfortable you may want to increase that time and add 15 more minutes. Also, to stay motivated, find someone that is willing to walk with you. Before you know it, you will have accomplished this goal. Today is a new day, so on your mark, get set, go, start over!
